It’s the real estate agents’ motto and one of a potential study abroad students’ main deciding factors: location, location, location. Our programs run in over 15 countries worldwide, including Spain, Italy, Panama and England, where our primary study centers are located. Study centers differ from other locations because they are fully-staffed, year-round facilities that provide students with the opportunity to study abroad during the spring, summer and fall semesters. Other locations, such as Australia and Costa Rica, function solely during the summer semester.

All of our study centers are equipped with computer labs, libraries, classrooms, and administrative offices. Shared accommodations in each of these locations are fully-equipped and boast modern amenities. Check out the study centers for yourself!

Florence, Italy

Ah, Florence! Florida State University arrived in Florence in 1966, the year of the Great Flood. Since the students were living in Florence when the Arno River poured into the city, many of them actually had a hand in saving important works of art damaged by the flood. The heroic efforts of our students during the flood were recognized by the commune who officially praised the FSU Florence Program for their volunteer efforts at the time. This initial union between Florida State and the City of Florence created a special relationship that has grown stronger over the years.

Today, the FSU Florence study center sits in the gorgeous fifteenth-century Alessandri Palace. Inside, classrooms, offices, a computer lab and an expansive library welcome students into their new casa. Historical monuments such as the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery are only a short walk away.

Panama City, Panama

Our oldest international campus, the Panama City study center has been functioning since 1957 when it was built to provide basic educational opportunities for American soldiers. It is located in the beautiful City of Knowledge, a unique environment of academic and research institutions located between the Panama Canal and the Camino de Cruces National Park.

Students studying abroad in Panama will experience the natural wonders of Latin American in depth, seeing as many of the courses offered at the study center integrate visits to the biologically diverse rainforests in the area into their curriculum and class schedule.
